A blank page asks a small question: what do I want to remember? I don’t always have a grand answer. Sometimes the answer is simply a thought that stayed with me long enough to make it here.
Not Just the Big Days
It’s easy to give the important dates their own place in memory. The everyday parts are less orderly; they pass without announcing that they might matter. I want to make room for those, too, without pretending every small moment has a hidden meaning.
A Record, Not a Lesson
When I write something down, I’m not always trying to turn it into a lesson. I might only want to keep the shape of a thought, or the way a particular day feels when I look back at it. That feels like a good enough reason to write.
Leaving Space for Later
I can’t know which details will matter to me later, and I don’t need to decide that in advance. This blog is a place to notice, reflect, and leave a few words behind. For now, I’ll begin with what I’m willing to remember today.
